Portfolio

I have published a number of short stories, poems and articles prior to 2002; however, these pieces will not be presented on this website, because I wish this platform to showcase more recent works.

Ghosts of Our Pioneers: Investigations into the Paranormal took several years to complete while attending investigations, researching, and time to actually write and produce the book. It includes detailed chapters on Como House in South Yarra; The Convent Gallery in Daylesford; Spetts Cottage, Old School Grounds and Windsor House in Walhalla; J Ward in Ararat; and Seppelt’s Vineyard in Great Western. The book also explores and explains the equipment used on a paranormal investigation, answers questions and poses other thought-provoking questions and theories. The project started in 2007 and the end result published in 2011 – during this period, it absorbed my thoughts and invaded my dreams, but it’s a project that I’m immensely proud of. Shortly after publication, a layout designer who liked my style of writing in Ghosts of Our Pioneers: Investigations into the Paranormal contacted me about a project she wanted to work on. That’s how I came to write the majority of a travel magazine designed like a coffee table book called Inland Splendour. (Click on the links to see samples: WindsorHouse1, WindsorHouse2,  and Walhalla.)  Once again I found myself in my car driving to different destinations to research locations or interview people. Taking photos is part of my research process because it enables me to trigger memories and it’s easier to create when I’m sitting at a computer and have pictures as a reference. The layout designer loved my photographs and they too were used in the magazine. Inland Splendour covered areas in Gippsland. I learnt a lot about layout and design during the time I worked on this project.

I wrote the tour notes and became a tour guide for The Convent Gallery and Como House for approximately four years. At this point I wanted to go back to working on my own ideas, but took time out to hone my skills through a couple of courses. I wanted to learn other areas of writing that I hadn’t tried before. I must admit that I became addicted to learning and exploring all the avenues of writing. I’m working on a few projects now, but you’ll have to wait before I’m ready to divulge any more.
